Suffolk University is excited to announce an opportunity to join a dynamic Human Resources Team as a Talent Acquisition Specialist.
Primary/Principal Responsibilities:
-
Lead the
creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open
position
Efficiently
and effectively fill open positions
Conduct
regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of
recruiting plans and implementation
Ensure hiring
managers complete the Inclusive Hiring trainings and attend
workshops
Serve as the
primary facilitator of the Inclusive Hiring workshops
Develop a
pool of qualified candidates in advance of need
Ensure
diversity in every stage of the recruitment process
Build
networks to find qualified passive candidates
Post position
to appropriate internal sources
Use social
and professional networking sites to identify and sources
candidates
- Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport
- Create contacts externally and maintain regular contact with possible future candidates
- Review applicants to evaluate if they meet position requirements
- Maximize applicant tracking system and screening tools, efficiently and effectively open and close positions, audit reports from searches for affirmative action reporting as well as other uses.
- Use market knowledge to advise Hiring Managers on potential bottlenecks and develop strategies to influence the candidates decision to join This position will collect data, analyze for trends and report to Director and CHRO with recommendations for solutions. Communicates complex data into comprehensive narratives for HR leadership.
- Ensure all offers are extended orally and in writing, recordkeeping, new employees are welcomed, complete any pre-employment requirements, have their first day agenda, managers are prepared with their onboarding/orientation checklist, hire process using Workday is complete and complete their onboarding. Greet new employees on their first day, complete the I-9 process, accompany new employees to obtain their Suffolk Identification and if applicable to the ITS Support for their technology onboarding session. Participates with HR team on special projects and initiatives as directed. Other projects and duties as assigned.

Bachelors
degree
- 3-5 years experience with full cycle recruiting experience
- Experience sourcing, screening, facilitating interviews, extending offers, and executing onboarding
- Technically savvy with experience using an applicant tracking system to streamline processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with acute attention to detail
- Proven track record of hitting talent acquisition goals and forming positive relationships with hiring managers
- Experience coaching and collaborating with hiring managers in support of the overall recruitment strategy
- Ability to influence at all levels of the organization with strong business acumen
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
- Team player mentality and willingness to share knowledge with others Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution Demonstrated commitment and ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
