Job Description:

The Department of English & Communications at MCLA invites applications for Adjunct Instructors for the 2023-2024 academic year. Candidates with a commitment to working with a diverse student population are particularly encouraged to apply.

Examples of Duties
  • Deliver instruction appropriate to the topic, course description, intended learning outcomes, level, and student audience.
  • Promote and facilitate student success by creating an environment conducive to learning and student involvement.
  • Manage the learning environment through effective record-keeping, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school/campus academic, code of conduct, and attendance policies.

Requirements:
  • Preferred Qualifications for instructors of College Writing II:
  • M.A. or MFA in English, Composition and Rhetoric, Creative Writing or a related field, or proof of excellence in teaching writing.
  • Previous teaching experience

Application Instructions:

Please note that all part-time instructor postings are for adjunct pools. Positions may or may not be immediately available, however whenever openings occur, department chairs will turn to the adjunct pools to fill the openings.

Applicants to these pools will not hear back on their status unless an opening occurs and the Department Chair decides to interview that candidate to possibly fill the new opening.
