Scope of Job:
Provide administrative and technical expertise to the Standardized Patient (SP) Program by organizing and implementing SP teaching and assessment activities for use in various university and health science student programs.

Description of Duties:
• Training of SPs for teaching and assessment sessions:
o Coordinates the development of training material for SP cases portrayal, including checklist guides.
o Conducts training sessions for SPs.
o Assists with SP orientations on policies & procedures.
o Creates and implements SP work schedule.
o Ensures appropriate SP coverage and backup plan for unexpected SP issues.
• Monitors SP performance for accuracy and appropriateness of feedback.
• Recruits, screens and interviews potential SPs as needed.
• Coordinates the development of training and educational materials for SPs and student groups.
• Schedules, monitors and documents SP performances.
• Provides feedback to SPs quarterly regarding job performance.
• Provides accurate accounting of SP payroll and other administrative details as needed.
• Provides administrative and technical duties for SP Programs:
o Maintains SP database
o Assists in all technical and logistical requirements for SP sessions.
o Maintains working relationships with school faculty.
o Assists in the design and update of SP script scenarios.
• Collaborates with Simulation Center, Director to plan, develop, and implement student exercises.
• Participates in research and scholarly activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received:
General supervision from assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given:
Direct supervision of assigned staff.

Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a Health related field from an accredited university,• Or a combination of the education and experience based on a one-on-one basis.

Licenses/Certifications:


Required Experience:
• One (1) year experience in some type of medical education and/or SP Training (to include knowledge and understanding of the use of Standardized Patients in medical teaching)
• Or a combination of the education and experience based on a one-on-one basis.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in recruitment, training, supervision and monitoring of Standardized Patients.

Equipment:
Use of standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required.

Other:
Demonstrated ability to collaborate & work within a team. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent computer, and written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated attention to detail, highly organized, self-motivated, and ability to work with limited supervision.
