JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Vice Provost for Finance & Administration, the Associate Director, Special Projects will be primarily responsible for leading the development, implementation and management of special projects under the Office of the Provost's Finance and Administration team. The Associate Director will work closely with staff across the university to analyze business-critical systems, identify areas for improvement, and proactively develop and implement solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Highly effective problem-solving skills complemented by solid execution skills, data visualization and insight generation ability, aptitude to process financial data and formulate analytical reports and reconciliations, and the ability to think strategically from a high level with consideration for broader implications of various alternatives. Ability to build strong working relationships across the university and solid communications skills are critical. Ability to influence others to reach agreement Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically gained through a related bachelor's degree and at least 4-6 years of related experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

1) Responsible for oversight and daily management of specific business processes, including: Ph.D. payment processing, tracking and reporting, charging of Ph.D. stipends to grants, and implementation of a university-wide process to charge Ph.D. tuition to grants.

2) Partner with stakeholders, including the Deputy Provost and Vice Provost for Finance and Administration, to understand business needs, defining a framework, and working with key partners to design the appropriate and actionable solutions.

3) As part of the finance and administration team, create executive-level reporting on all aspects of a project, including creating both financial and non-financial dashboards

4) Work closely with faculty and staff across the university and its global campus network to develop institutional knowledge to support the execution of strategic initiatives.
