Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend hours. This is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2024 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist.

About the Position:

The Division of Information Technology (IT) strives to be a strategic, innovative and best‐in‐class IT organization that provides a leading‐edge technology environment for students, faculty and staff to advance the University's mission, vision and goals. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our College Centralized Information Technology team as the Operating Systems Analyst - Expert.

Under general supervision, the Operating Systems Analyst - Expert is responsible for providing technical support, including but not limited to, operational maintenance and project implementation. Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, physical servers, and virtualization, including cloud instances. Maintains lab and classroom equipment. Provides technical support to faculty, staff and students. Performs other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field and five years of relevant full-time experience. Twelve years of relevant full-time experience may be substituted for the previously listed education and experience requirement.

Advanced knowledge of the work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of advanced principles and theories. Ability to integrate and apply work related knowledge to achieve innovative solutions. Ability to anticipate the impact of problems and solutions on other systems. Ability to investigate and research new systems and technologies. Ability to develop complex information technology systems and solutions. Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and explore, conceive, and implement solutions and ideas in new ways. Ability to predict and anticipate problems and create proactive solutions. Demonstrated communication expertise using persuasion and negotiation. Ability to lead technical team efforts, assess skills within a team, and build individual strengths to maximize team results. Ability to teach and transfer knowledge and skills to others.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience offering help desk support and end-user hardware and software support and maintenance. Experience in computer programming, trouble­shooting and repair. Experience supporting Windows servers. Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, Azure, AWS. Experience with cloud infrastructure deployment. Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols. Ability to develop and execute disaster recovery plans.
