About the Opportunity

Job Summary

The Speech and Neurodevelopment Lab (SNL) (http://nuweb9.neu.edu/snl/) and the Speech Motor Impairment and Learning (SMILe) Lab (https://smilelab.sites.northeastern.edu/), in the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, are seeking to hire a joint Lab Coordinator. The SNL is directed by Dr. Emily Zimmerman, and the SMILe lab is directed by Dr. Kristen Allison. This is a 40 hour/week, benefits-eligible position that requires a minimum 1-year commitment. The lab coordinator's duties include managing the laboratory spaces, assisting with protocol development for acoustic and facial movement data collection, supporting and leading data collection efforts, testing of infants in the lab as well as at off-campus sites (on-campus, homes, and in hospital or clinic settings), data management and database maintenance both for Boston-based projects as well as projects based outside the lab.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology, psychology, or related field, and some prior research and clinical experience is preferred. Strong computer, administrative, and managerial skills are essential. In addition, the successful candidate must be highly attentive to details, have excellent interpersonal skills, be capable of working independently as well as with others in a complex, demanding, and exciting research environment, and must enjoy interacting with infants and their parents.
