Job Summary
The primary duties of this position include providing management information, data analyses, and policy reports to inform strategic planning, decision-making, and resource allocation for the department; providing advice and performance management support for department leadership; providing administrative service to the Chief of Police and his/her designee.The work is performed in a busy office environment, where priorities quickly change and interruptions are common. The incumbent must exercise a high degree of initiative in carrying out their duties; be able to follow through tasks to a successful conclusion; be able to balance many tasks simultaneously, and be able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion. The incumbent of this position will serve as a model representative of the division and the department by providing superb customer service while exhibiting professionalism to members of the University community and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current UWM Police Department employee

Preferred Qualifications
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills (as evidenced by examples in application materials).· Excellent organizational skills.· Knowledge of departmental and campus policies and procedures.· Ability to secure confidential information.· Skill in using common business productivity software and applications (e.g., Windows-based word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, etc.); excellent keyboard skills. · Skill in analyzing business processes necessary for identifying and implementing improvements.· Ability to successfully execute detailed and precise processes.· Ability to provide superb customer service and professionalism and serve as a model representative for UWM, the Division and Department.· Ability to exercise individual initiative and exhibit excellent independent judgment.· Understanding of university’s mission and how the Division’s activities impact that mission.· Interpersonal skills that will enable the person to work in a positive way with diverse people from outside and inside the institution. Respect for the diverse community is essential.· Knowledge of office management methods and procedures.
· Bachelor’s Degree· Knowledge of the Clery Act and reporting requirements· Proficiency with Microsoft applications· Experience working in a policing environment within higher education
