About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY:

The Academic Coordinator serves the as the department's initial and key point of contact for inquiries about programs, policies, and processes. The coordinator carries out day-to-day assignments in conducting the department's operations to make it run more efficiently and effectively. The coordinator also gathers, organizes, and analyzes data from a variety of sources for recordkeeping, reporting, analysis, and program management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Serves the as the department's initial and key point of contact for inquiries about programs, policies, and processes. Provides information for routine matters, and when necessary, make interpretations and determines course of action for non-routine matters, such as complaints and disputes. Escalates and provides recommendations for the most serious matters.
  • Administers the day-to-day department operations (e.g., enrollment, admissions, registrations, etc.), and carries out the daily office functions, including scheduling, calendars, events, lists workflows and/or records management. Makes improvements of processes, procedures, or systems within job area or team.
  • Gathers, organizes, and analyzes data from a variety of sources for recordkeeping, reporting and program management. Provides analysis and recommendations. Troubleshoots issues with applications and systems.
  • May train, supervise and develop student workers and/or administrative to handle front-line inquiries from students and parents on the phone, via email, and in person.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and at least two years of experience, preferably in higher education or a large organization.
  • Knowledge of MS office products, project management, and office operations.
  • Ability to influence others to reach agreement
  • Explain and clarify complex information (verbally and in writing) using tact and diplomacy
  • Independently prioritize, organize and manage multiple activities with attention to detail
