The Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a two-year visiting full-time faculty position in Health Studies for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years, to begin in August 2023. Reappointment for the 2024-2025 academic year is contingent upon a successful review of teaching. We are seeking applications from candidates in any health-related field, with a preference for those with teaching and professional experience in public health disciplines such as Environmental Health, Global Health, Health Disparities, or Health Policy. The successful candidate will be expected to teach two sections of Introduction to Health Studies per year. In addition, the candidate should be prepared to teach some combination of intermediate and upper-level courses related to their discipline and training such as a course in environmental health, epidemiology, global health, health policy, or research methods and/or design. The courses will be taught through the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at https://www.holycross.edu/academics/programs/center-interdisciplinary-studies .

This position carries a 3-3 teaching load and instructors are encouraged to contribute to co-curricular program planning. Visiting full-time faculty are eligible for travel support and reimbursement of relocation costs within the College’s published policies. All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and include full benefits.

Qualifications

Candidates must have expertise and substantial experience as a practitioner in fields related to health, with a preference given to those with a background in public health. A minimum of an MPH, MSPH, or equivalent degree is required. Candidates must also demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
