Portland Community College is excited to announce a new Student Accommodation Manager position. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is ready to join a committed team and engage in innovative work. The Student Accommodation Manager is a new position for PCC and will serve within the Accessible Education leadership team. The successful applicant will supervise employees in a variety of classifications including faculty, academic professional, as well as classified and casual roles. This role will be vital to ensure students across the multi-campus college are able to leverage the accommodation process. This role will ensure the campus-based office locations and the online accommodation management system are working well.

We are seeking a collaborative and creative leader who is skilled in strategic planning as well as relationship and team building. We expect a commitment to cultural responsiveness and inclusion as well as a commitment to forward thinking and sustainable capacity building. We are looking for a person who brings a solid foundation of experience with student accommodation, and an openness to learning.

This position is currently remote due to COVID, but there is an expectation for an ongoing hybrid work-schedule with some duties being performed remotely. It will be a combination of remote work, and time spent at each of the four locations to support our operations across the college. Schedules will be determined collaboratively with the successful candidate.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, Administration, Management, Communications, or related field (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).
  • Three years (3) of progressively responsible experience related to student accommodation in post-secondary education, including two years of supervisory experience.


OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Five (5) years progressively responsible experience related to student accommodation in post-secondary education, including two years of supervisory experience.


OR

  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience related to student accommodation in post-secondary education, including two years of supervisory experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Engagement with, or knowledge of, Disability Studies.
  • Knowledge of ADA, 504, IDEIA, and other relevant disability related legislation.


Position Grade K Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $70,796 to range midpoint of $86,726. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $70796 to $102654 Annual Salary FTE 1.0 PCC Benefits

PCC currently fully funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. After one year of management or confidential service, PCC also provides a 2% contribution to a 403(b) account for eligible management and confidential personnel. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
- 14.67 hours of vacation leave per month
- 1 day of sick leave per month
- 11 holidays
- 3 additional personal leave days per year

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work environment includes frequent disruptions and changes in priorities.
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working hours may vary and some evening or weekend work is required.
  • Frequent travel to other locations is required and possession of a current Driver License.
  • No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.
