Essential Functions (Job Duties):

The Research Study Assistant recruits potential research study participants and provides education relating to the research study. Follows protocols, collects, processes and analyzes research data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Essential Functions Include:

Recruits potential research intervention participants using virtual and passive platforms and by attending clinic sessions. Provides project information and health education in clinical and non-clinical settings.

Coordinates the clinic-based research project experience for participants by providing access to questionnaires and/or reviewing and extracting data from database records. Ensures completeness and accuracy of data collected. Compiles, tabulates and/or codes participant data and enters into database. Updates database as necessary.

Follows-up with research project participants to attend cessation session via email, phone or direct message. Resolves any data inconsistencies and mails health education materials as requested.

Assists with collecting, tracking, reviewing, and summarizing research participant data. Communicates research information to appropriate parties and maintains participant database. May assist with writing/preparing portions of grant applications and providing input to scientific papers and publications.

Maintains continuous learning through webinars and attending virtual meetings and conferences recommended by the sponsor.

Supports Project Investigator & Manager with programmatic infrastructure.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education
High school completion/GED or bachelor's degree in a science related field preferred.

Experience
Entry level. Research related experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to empathetically, effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing to a diverse population. Ability to speak, read and write fluent English. Ability to clearly and effectively present information one-on-one and in groups. Working knowledge of database software. Ability to perform data entry, extract data from web-based software, and create and update spreadsheets. Ability to write clear, accurate and concise reports.
