Pre-Faculty Fellow - Rhetoric and Writing Studies

We are searching for an experienced Pre-Faculty Fellow - Rhetoric and Writing Studies at our Detroit campus location. Essential Functions (Job Duties):

This Pre-Faculty Fellowship position falls under the Pathway to Faculty Program. The Department of English at Wayne State University invites applications for a 12-month post-doctoral fellow position in Rhetoric and Writing Studies beginning in Fall 2023. The area(s) of research specialization are technical communication, community literacy, and/or first-year writing. Duties include a teaching load of 0:1 in the first year and 1:1 in the second and third years. This position is one of several under the inaugural Wayne State University Pathway to Faculty Program which includes structured mentoring, resources for the establishment of an independent research program, and the support of a community committed to equity and inclusion. Internal and external professionals in the field will provide mentoring to help develop a sustainable research agenda. Following the successful completion of the three-year post-doctoral fellowship, the position will transition into a tenure-track assistant professorship in the department for a minimum of two years.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or a related field is required at the time of appointment as a post-doctoral fellow.
