We are searching for an experienced Part-Time Faculty, Health & Physical Education Teaching at our Detroit campus location.

The mission of Wayne State University is to create and advance knowledge, prepare a diverse student body to thrive and positively impact local and global communities. The Health and Physical Education Teaching program is located in the Division of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies in the College of Education. Health and/or Physical Education professionals are encouraged to apply for part-time faculty (adjunct) teaching positions (up to 8 credit hours). Applicants are invited to submit a cover letter, resume, and a list of three professional references with their contact information.

The Health and Physical Education Teaching program offers undergraduate (B.S.) and graduate (M.S. & Ph.D.) degrees that prepare students to become K-12 Health and/or Physical Education teachers in public and private schools in urban, suburban and/or rural settings. Graduates are eligible to take the Michigan Test for Teaching Certification (MTTC) to attain K-12 Health and Physical Education teacher licensure from the Michigan Department of Education.

Applicants will be reviewed periodically and considered for teaching opportunities as they arise (the need for part-time faculty varies from semester to semester).

Qualifications:

Masters degree in Health and/or Physical Education Teaching.

Current or expired Health and/or Physical Education teaching license.

Minimum of three years of industry experience or three years of teaching experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Evidence of expertise and effectiveness in online instruction.
