Description
Learning Commons Info Desk Supervisor - Part Time
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service support at the LC Info Desk, including but not limited to, equipment circulation, data collection, and assisting patrons
- Supervise student employees working at the LC Info Desk
- Work independently to enforce policies and procedures of the LC Info Desk
- Supervise and assist peer educators as they hold hours in the Learning Commons
- Manage activity in the Learning Commons and complete shift report
- Close and/or open the LC, depending on shift
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Two years of relevant experience in academic support services preferred
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Schedule includes Friday, Saturday, or Sunday shifts during fall and spring semesters
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty and staff using services within the Learning Commons
- Customer service-oriented attitude
- Sensitivity to the needs of students
- Demonstration of positive attitude, diplomacy, tact, courtesy and a sense of humor
- Superior written, interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Ability to quickly respond to changing departmental needs
- Knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
- Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission
