Haverford College invites applications for our part-time, non-exempt, Access Services and Marketing Assistant opportunity.
The schedule for this position is 20 hours per week during the academic year (August 15 to May 15).
The Access Services and Marketing Assistant is responsible for the fulfillment of course reserves, both print and electronic, in Lutnick Library, and assisting with reserves in the Science and Music libraries. The Assistant also participates in the marketing and promotion of Libraries events.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify, process, and service the course reserve collection, both print and electronic, making those resources available in the appropriate library or on the Moodle course website
- Maintain statistics and provide reports
- Assist with the setting of reserve policies and procedures
- Provide documentation, training, and support to students, faculty, and staff
- Support and contribute to a diverse and inclusive community of faculty, students, and staff
- Perform additional access-related functions, including providing excellent service to users, performing tasks in the Libraries’ Integrated Library System, and working with the self-check system
- Collaborate with Tri-College Consortium colleagues to meet users’ needs
- Provide timely support for faculty and student curricular needs, e.g., poster printing
- Serve as backup to the Interlibrary Loan Specialist, and contribute to this service as needed to provide users with timely access to requested materials
- Collaborate with colleagues on aggregating and presenting programming information
- Engage in a variety of communication and marketing methods to share programmatic information with the community
- Participate in organizing and communicating event logistics
- Other duties or projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in a diverse and inclusive customer service environment
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to interact courteously and tactfully in all circumstances
- Ability to display initiative, creativity, flexibility, dependability
- Ability to exercise good judgment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and attention to detail
- Capacity to foster and work in a highly collaborative environment
- Familiarity and aptitude for a variety of technologies and a willingness and capacity to learn new ones
- Ability and willingness to learn a wide variety of procedures, policies, and library services and to apply them thoughtfully and flexibly in delivering excellent service
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks on short deadlines
- B.A., B.S., or some college experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
