Description

The Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a full-time, one-year visiting guest lecturer position in the Acting Area for the 2023-2024 academic year. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong ability to teach acting, specializing in voice and speech, and movement, to our undergraduate population.

Our future colleague will help us innovate within one of the largest university theatre and dance communities in the country, with 50 full-time faculty and staff, 400 undergraduate students, and 70 graduate students. We aim to create the most intellectually diverse, inclusive and equitable department possible by cultivating a community of faculty, staff, and students that includes the experiences and expertise of historically-underrepresented traditions and perspectives. Qualifications

Minimum Requirement: MFA in Acting

Preferred Requirements: Experience, specialization and/or certification in voice/speech and movement methodologies, including but not limited to:
  • Voice and Speech: Knight-Thompson, Linklater, Rodenburg, Berry, Fitzmauric
  • Movement: Lecoq, Clown, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, Gyrokenisis, Tai Chi, Michael Chekov Technique, Grotowski work, Contact Improv, Yoga, Pilates, Barre
