Postdoctoral Fellow- Orthopaedic Surgery/Tendon Biology

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for a postdoctoral researcher to perform research in tendon and ligament regenerative medicine under the supervision of Natalie Leong, MD and Jie Jiang, PhD. The successful candidate will be expected to guide and assist in mechanistic experiments on the role of perivascular stem cells on tendon and ligament development and healing, as well as therapeutic experiments, in small animal models. The candidate will also be involved in analysis of a novel mouse tendon phenotype. The candidate will gain experience and training in advanced techniques in murine genetics including stem cell lineage tracing and partial deletion of stem cell lines, and small animal surgery. The candidate will also assist with grant writing, regulatory compliance, and lab administration. We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven individual with a PhD in molecular biology, developmental biology, or a related field. Experience in rodent work and immunohistochemistry preferred.

This position is for one year and is renewable contingent upon performance, funding and mutual interest.
