Position Summary

The Tuba and Euphonium instructor will teach lessons in tuba and euphonium at the undergraduate and graduate levels, coach chamber music and recruit music majors to the studio.

UPI Contingency
This contract subject to termination as of the last day of the appointment period listed above, in the event that the Department Chair determines that program needs do not warrant continuation of the position beyond the initial 4.5 month period. In the event that this provision is exercised by the Department Chair, notification shall be provided to the instructor no later than the Friday before scheduled finals week of the given Fall semester

Should my course(s) fail to enroll the minimum number of students as determined by the College of Visual and Performing Arts ( CVPA ), the course(s) may be canceled. In the event of a course cancellation this contract may be voided or (in the case of multiple course assignments) reduced proportionally by the number of courses canceled. The decision to cancel a course shall be made no later than one week prior to the beginning of class. I understand that the compensation rate for this contract is based on student enrollment and may be adjusted based on the student enrollment upon the official 10-day count.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching load will be determined by the actual number of students enrolled in lessons. This is currently anticipated to be .75FTE
