Job Summary

The HRIS Systems Analyst III is a highly technical position that provides leadership in the planning, administration and maintenance of Workday HCM modules. Serves as project manager for cross functional working groups. The incumbent reports to Human Resources and collaborates closely with Information Technology Services and end-users to ensure data integrity, configure system changes and updates, develop complicated custom reports, dashboards and analytics, maintain role security and oversee business process architecture.

Job Description

Typical duties include but not limited to:
  • Serves as the primary Workday HCM administrator. Maintains the configuration of modules including, but not limited to HCM, Compensation, Benefits, and Recruitment. Ensures efficient and effective operations.
  • Manages system changes, updates, and releases. Verifies through testing that all objects, permissions, and assignments are performing as expected. Addresses or escalates issues as needed.
  • Ensures that end users have access to necessary data through scheduled and custom ad hoc reports, dashboards, and embedded analytics.
  • Responsible for user management and security role assignments.
  • Collaborates across departments to facilitate and improve daily operation of business process workflows. Recommends process improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes to enhance service delivery and data integrity.
  • Provides guidance and training to partners on system processes, data, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Develops and utilizes auditing processes and tools to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Develops and maintains operational processes and procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Assists with the management and maintenance of applications integrated with Workday.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends in Human Resources Information Systems with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies.
  • Communicates changes in system functionality to department faculty and staff in a prompt and effective manner.
Other Duties:
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of FGCU Human Resources policies and practices.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’ s degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or closely related field.
  • Six years of full-time professional experience with functional management of an enterprise Human Resources Information System.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Experience with Workday HCM, Compensation, Recruitment, and/or Benefits modules.
  • Experience writing routine, complex and ad hoc reports with Cognos, Prism, or other data report writing applications.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters’ s degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or closely related field.
  • Workday Pro Certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with two or more Human Resources functional areas of operation.
  • Professional work experience in a higher education setting.
  • Experience resolving technical issues in collaboration with functional users, central IT department and software vendors.
  • Experience with project management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to human resources and employment.
  • Strong knowledge of information systems, relational database structure and concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.
  • Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to challenges.
  • Ability to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of its student body and workforce and actively promotes an equitable environment.
  • Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, organize and present technical information in a meaningful manner to both end users and technical personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new applications and processes.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.
