Position Details

The Department of Chemistry at Wesleyan University invites applications for a part-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry beginning September 1, 2023 for the fall semester. Candidates must be prepared to teach Advanced Inorganic Chemistry (CHEM361) for chemistry majors and graduate students in person on the Wesleyan campus in the fall. The specific duties include providing three hours per week of direct instruction (lecture/discussion) and providing regular weekly office hours. Wesleyan is a highly selective liberal arts university that values effective teaching with an engaged and diverse student body.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry or related field in hand by the time of appointment to be hired as an Assistant Professor; a successful candidate may be hired as an Instructor if the candidate is enrolled in a Ph.D. program but does not have the degree in hand at the time of appointment. Wesleyan is unable to sponsor visa applications for this position.
