Job Summary:
Columbia College seeks an energetic and proactive Full-time Senior Clinical Instructor I at our Columbia location. This position reports to the Program Director/Department Chair of Nursing. Primary job responsibilities include guiding, teaching and evaluating ASN and/or BSN students’ performance in clinical and laboratory settings, and partnering in effective communication efforts in the instructional setting, throughout the program, within the institution, and across clinical placement sites.

Join a team of well-respected, student-focused, healthcare educators in shaping the next generation of nurses! The Department consists of 12 full-time faculty and staff and approximately 20 part time clinical instructors serving close to 150 pre-licensure students in ASN and traditional BSN programs. ASN cohorts of up to 32 students are accepted twice a year and a BSN cohort of up to 40 students is admitted annually.

The College offers 14-month Associate of Science in Nursing and 3-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs of study, preparing nearly 100 graduates a year to sit for the RN licensure exam. The Department also delivers an online RN-BSN degree.

The associate’s program has ACEN accreditation and the baccalaureate programs are accredited with CCNE. RegisteredNursing.org recently ranked Columbia College as the third best school for RN programs in Missouri, based on analysis of the NCLEX-RN pass rates of 54 schools. The department boasts state-of-the art facilities on main campus, downtown Columbia, and the Lake of the Ozarks, MO locations.

Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree with a major in Nursing
  • An unencumbered Missouri registered nurse license or eligibility for licensure in Missouri
  • Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience immediately prior to appointment
  • Flexibility to travel to various clinical agencies locally
  • Ability to work varied hours, including evening lab/clinical

Preferred qualifications:
  • Previous clinical instructor experience supervising and evaluating nursing students.
