Job Summary:
SUNY Brockport invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner Instructor position in the Department of Nursing. Nurse practitioner candidates should anticipate teaching online, face to face in the simulation lab on campus, and providing supervision/instruction of direct patient care within community clinical sites at various points throughout the year. Candidates should be comfortable teaching and practicing clinically with nurse practitioner students in on-campus and community settings. This is a 12-month position.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing or Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP) from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting organization.
  • Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult/GERO Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, or Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Valid NYS professional nursing license.
  • Recent clinical experience as an advanced practice nurse.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, public, college community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting organization.
  • Experience with the development of curriculum.
  • Experience teaching/precepting advanced practice nursing students.
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs and information technology systems.
    Work Schedule: variable Salary and Benefits: Salary: $45,000. This position is benefits eligible; more information at Careers@Brockport. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
