Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to teach 12 hours per semester of core courses in the Kinesiology undergraduate program; participate in department/college curricular and programmatic development; show a demonstrated commitment to professional organizations; advise students, and provide departmental, university, community engagement, and professional service.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Master of Science Degree in Physical Education/Activity, Kinesiology or other related field. At least two years of experience teaching at the University, Community College level or three years at the
K-12 level teaching physical education. Evidence of successful teaching experience in Physical Activity or other related courses. Ability to develop and teach online courses. Ability to recruit, advise, and mentor undergraduate students, and serve on departmental Committees.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Teach 12 hours per semester; Implement pedagogical strategies in teaching as well as teach students the various pedagogical methods and strategies for teaching physical activity/aerobic courses. Knowledge of teaching measurement and evaluation and/or statistical measures. Advise students at the undergraduate level. Complete committee assignments for department and university. Participate in department/college curricular and programmatic development; develop community and university partnerships for student enrichment and practicum experiences, and demonstrate a documented level of technological proficiency and ability to develop and deliver online courses.
