ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - INTERCOLLEGIATE & INTRAMURAL ATHLETICS
TRUMAN COLLEGE

Consider joining Truman College as an Assistant Director of Intercollegiate & Intramural Athletics. As the Assistant Director you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Director in the development, implementation and administration of a comprehensive intercollegiate and intramural athletics programs. Additionally, you will also provide leadership in maintaining an athletic program policy of education and graduating student athletes.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assists the Director, Intercollegiate and Intramural Athletics in the implementation of the “Academics First Agenda” and implementation of a department strategy designed to increase enrollment, retention and completion within an athletics program.

· Participates in the interviewing and hiring of Athletics staff.

· Approves time and attendance records, prepares work schedules and organizes training and in-service activities for staff.

· Responsible for daily checks and inventory of equipment and makes recommendations for the purchasing of new equipment to the Director of Intercollegiate and Intramural Athletics and the Executive Director of Business Services.

· Maintain incident reports and presents data to management as required. Works with the Director of Risk Management to ensure compliance with safety protocol.

· Works collaboratively with the Director to assure the college’s compliance with National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and regulations.

· Assists in organizing team travel and athletic event management.

· May attend NJCAA Regional meetings.

· Meets with conference and league officials on scheduling, post-season play, and related issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in physical education, recreation, sports administration or a related field.

· Thorough understanding of NJCAA rules and policies.

· First Aid and CPR/AED certification is preferred.

· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
