Overview of Assessment Data Coordinator

The College of Humanities, Education & Social Sciences (CHESS) is seeking a Assessment Data Coordinator. A professional contributor within the college’s assessment and accreditation office. The Assessment Data Coordinator will work to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact across the college within work with program areas, departments/schools, and the college. Using established procedures and working under immediate supervision, perform assigned tasks. Identify, define and address problems drawing from prior experiences or standard procedures and basic analysis. Recommend minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness in assessment and accreditation practices. Communicate with all involved parties and stakeholders.

Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Duties and Responsibilities of Assessment Data Coordinator
  • Coordinate with key assessment personnel within program areas and departments/schools to facilitate the administration of assessments following an agreed upon assessment calendar that is part of the comprehensive assessment system
  • Monitor and analyze information and data systems
  • Collaborate with key assessment personnel within program areas and departments/schools to update the university online assessment reporting system information at least once per semester to reflect continuous improvements as they occur
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests concerning assessment needs
  • Assist with reports and data extraction
  • Assist with faculty and staff members within program areas and/or at departmental/school levels to develop reports as required for accountability and accreditation
  • Update annual reports to reflect the continuous improvement process occurring within the program areas and/or department/school
  • Work collaboratively to create and enforce policies of effective data management
  • Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects
  • Coordinate the integration and ongoing development of relevant data, processes and procedures into the College’s assessment system
  • Evaluate performance of information and data systems to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, different processes, etc.)
  • Maintain evidence associated with assessment system to ensure that assessments and data are accessible and available for key personnel
  • Create and ensure that the CHESS Assessment Calendar is up-to-date and shared with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with key assessment personnel within program areas and departments/schools to create a shared space (e.g., a non-academic course on the LMS; shared drive; etc.) where the continuous improvement process, assessment information (e.g., assessments, scoring guides, rubrics, etc.) and processes are stored and made available to all faculty and staff members within that program area or department/school
  • Maintain data dashboards to support continuous improvement, including infographics, data reports, summaries, etc.
  • Monitor and utilize CHESS Assessment email address for centralized communication

Education of Assessment Data Coordinator
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in one of the academic areas within the college, higher education, or related field from an accredited institution
Experience of Assessment Data Coordinator
  • 2 years’ work experience providing administrative support
  • Experience working in a Higher Education environment, preferred
  • Experience working in data management, analysis and interpretation as related to assessment, accountability, and accreditation
Core Competencies of Assessment Data Coordinator
  • Must possess excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills
  • Skillful in use of the Office Suite products to create reports and create data displays for analysis and reporting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Strong technology skills; ability to navigate Banner, OnePurdue, departmental data bases, etc.
  • Must have strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Must be able to solve problems independently and possess the ability to create data tables and displays that will facilitate analysis
  • Ability to implement assessment framework and utilize yearly calendar to efficiently guide the data and assessment cycle that comprises gathering, analyzing, planning, and reporting
