Class Description

Provides oversight of CCBC courses offered in the evening. Serves as a facility manager and as the ABE/GED liaison to promote the site's courses. Works with CCBC personnel to ensure that all program related paperwork complies with CCBC policies and procedures. Evaluates site-based instructors and provides coordination, facilitation, and/or leadership of efforts involving evening classes.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree and four years' experience working in instruction or administration in a literacy program. Prior supervisory/management experience preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Assist with providing leadership and direction for ABE/GED evening staff and courses.
  2. Provide administrative support for the implementation of college policies and practices and grant required paperwork and procedures.
  3. Assist faculty, staff, and students during evening classes.
  4. Observe and mentor instructional staff. Substitute in emergency situations.
  5. Attend departmental meetings and professional developments to support departmental goals and initiatives. In collaboration with CCBC personnel, implement and oversee departmental goals each semester.
  6. Coordinate services to help meet the needs of faculty, staff, and students, assisting during and after classes. Tutor students and direct small groups where needed.
  7. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with part-time instructional staff and CCBC personnel. Act as a liaison between ABE/GED administrators and part-time instructional staff.
  8. Ensure that all program-related paperwork such as course attendance rosters, I-9s, course and instructor evaluations, and grant required paperwork are distributed, completed, and returned to CCBC in a timely manner.
  9. Assist in resolving any teacher or student issues or problems, relay all issues of concerns to CCBC administrators and director.
  10. Assist instructional staff in ensuring that the classroom space is clean, safe, and technology is functioning properly. Alert proper CCBC personnel of issues.
  11. Ensure that assessment is conducted according to test administrator's requirements and grant requirements.

The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
