Major/Essential Functions

Ability to analyze the needs of TTUHSC physician and nurses and provide system support. Provide feedback on all
system designs, proposals and plans for all changes to Powerchart. Provide technical support during and after implementation for healthcare electronic data interchange applications. Supervise the scanning, double number and ROI teams. Support the vision and mission of TTUHSC and the SOM. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of TTUHSC management.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures relating to the management, retention, and storage of medical records; ensures that County policies and procedures are following all legal requirements pertaining to medical records; updates policies as necessary.
  • Excellent customer relation and organization skills are a must. The position requires excellent phone etiquette and the ability to work with frustrated patients and clinics.
  • Supervises, directs, trains, and assigns the work of clerical, medical records, and other assigned staff, either directly or through subordinate supervisors and lead staff.
  • Providing phone and face-to-face support to end users in the clinics as well as patients in regards to getting their medical records and scanning of records.
  • Escalation of issues within the department as needed.
  • Management of end-user relationships to ensure user satisfaction.
  • Accurately logging incident details and documenting resolutions. Ownership of incidents to ensure timely incident resolution.
  • Answer clinical/technical questions about the applications/systems to any group within potential, new or existing customer accounts as well as internal resources.
  • Acts as the liaison with information technology staff and works with vendors or appropriate staff to resolve software problems.
  • Works directly with third party vendor for Release of Information team.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated. Displays drive and energy in accomplishing tasks. Display enthusiasm for learning and improvement.
  • Supports the customer service philosophy of TTUHSC. Committed to the initiative that prepares and equips all employees to carry out the commitment of making the lives of those they serve their number one purpose.
  • Ability to work with other entities on streamlining process within the EHR system.
  • Will work closely with double number process, scanning of medical record and other duties as assigned.
