Job Description:

Under the direction of the Campus Operations Supervisor, the Part-Time Campus Store Clerk assists in the KCU convenience store operation and ancillary retail services. The Clerk supports the supervisor in inventory control, sales and returns, vendor relations, cash management, and related reporting.
** Work Hours M - F 10AM - 2PM, Occasional Saturday Hours **

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Assists in the operation of a store unit, including purchasing, special orders, receiving and shipping, and return of overstocked or defective merchandise

•Acts as a good steward of the convenience store budget; follows operating policies and procedures

•Assists in maintenance of stock, displays, signs, and inventory and participates in yearend inventory

•Follows store systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the store

•Helps as needed with the operation of auxiliary services such as vending machines or student service areas

•Represent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations

•Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization and department

Qualifications:

•High school diploma or equivalent.

•1-3 years’ experience in a retail operation with an emphasis in customer service, cash handling and inventory.

•Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

•Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

•Must have the ability to work diplomatically and effectively with all faculty, staff and students.

•Demonstrated ability to work independently is essential.

•Must be self-motivated, self-disciplined, and detail oriented.

•Excellent follow-through skills essential.
