Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Teaching & Learning, this position provides operational support for web management and e-learning. The position helps to maintain and update over 600 web pages, 1600 LibGuides, over 200 forms, surveys, quizzes and tutorials in LibWizard, and our LibCal scheduling tool that includes 10 different calendars. The position also assists with the creation of new tutorials and web pages. Work includes support for library Canvas integrations, including meta data support for guides and e-reserves. The position is crucial to the creation and maintenance of web site content, e-learning projects and support for online and distance learners.

Key Job Duties:
Update web content.

Troubleshoot LibGuide issues.

Assist in providing training and workshops related to e-learning, web content, and guides.

Support student use of the Digital Media and Innovation Lab (DMiL).

Research e-learning trends, tools and practices.

Use e-learning platforms to create modules and quizzes.

Use various software and hardware to create online tutorials and training resources

Nature of Work:
Performs technical, public service and administrative duties within a library setting. Responsibilities include cataloging, acquisitions, circulation, reserve, reference and instruction and inter-library loan.
  • Understands how tasks/activities relate to others on the team and how the team integrates with other related, similar teams
  • Organizes and completes structured assignments according to priorities
  • Performs moderately complex tasks in the area(s) of cataloging, acquisitions, circulation, reserve, collection management, educational materials and programming
  • Organizes and coordinates programs and materials (e.g., developing educational curriculum programming)
  • Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or that occur infrequently
  • Evaluates and selects solutions from established options/procedures
  • Impacts own team through the quality of the services or information provided
  • Communicates through the regular exchange of information, ranging from routine to complex
  • Works with others in team to develop and deliver educational and reference materials to external constituents
Salary

Salary Range: $14.09 - $14.96 per hour

Grade: GGS 006

Typically Monday through Friday 9:00 – 5:00 p.m., potentially some evenings and weekends

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree Preferred.
