JOB SUMMARY:
Cultivates on and off-campus partnerships to increase access to internships through targeted outreach strategies, including career treks and professional development opportunities. Develops, implements, and evaluates programming designed to increase awareness of and success in internships among special student populations, including but not limited to first-generation, low-income, underrepresented, and others. Instructs undergraduate off-campus INT courses, serves in a career counseling role, and assists with Career Center assessment efforts related to developing and implementing the core competency initiative. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
35% - Essential - Internship Programs and Partnership Development
Manages and coordinates the employer cultivation, development, strategic direction, and prosperity of off-campus internship services while making recommendations for budget requests, resources, policy and procedural changes, programming, and staff needs related to undergraduate off-campus internships. This includes, but is not limited to, serving as the instructor for undergraduate off-campus internship courses (INT) and developing on and off-campus partnerships to provide professional development events. Stays abreast of federal, local, and University regulations and trends that might affect internship policies and procedures.
25% - Essential - Career Counseling
Provides comprehensive and in-depth career services to individuals and groups in a 24,000+ student body setting. This includes but is not limited to career counseling, providing workshops, acting as an adviser to undergraduate student groups attending professional development opportunities, like SEMA, and educating the campus about the career center's most recent large-scale initiative known as career competencies.
20% - Essential - Special Population Programming Outreach
Develops and coordinates multi-faceted internship preparation programming targeted to special student populations, including but not limited to first-generation, low-income, underrepresented, and others. Develops partnerships with on and off-campus individuals and organizations to increase access to and success in internship experiences. Programming may include facilitating career treks, cultivating mentorships from Clemson alumni, and developing an internship preparation program.
20% - Essential - Research, Assessment, and Core Competency Initiative
Assists supervisor with developing and implementing the Career Center's core competency initiative, including collaborating with on and off-campus partners and delivering core competency-focused workshops and presentations.
Assists supervisor with generating and validating reports related to undergraduate INT courses and identifying and reaching special student populations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree and relevant program experience
Work Exp 1+ years in career services, experiential learning, human resources, recruitment or other related fields
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree or coursework towards a master's degree
RESPONSIBILITIES:
