Responsibilities:
- Assess, design, teach, and evaluate course curricula and learning experiences forCNAtraining to promote student learning through both online, hybrid and face-to-face delivery.
- Provide clear, timely, and specific evaluative feedback to students about course assignments and clinical performance.
- Select assessment tools and evaluates student learning outcomes.
- Facilitate student learning inCNAtraining and skills lab activities by:
- Teaching and advising a diverse student population, and
- Modeling socialization toCNAroles.
- Collaborate with faculty across healthcare disciplines to support the implementation of inter-professional simulation activities.
- Participate in designated course, committee, and program activities
- Engage in activities that promote positive relationships with students, faculty and professional colleagues, clinical and community agencies, alumnae, and other external groups.
- Maintain required professional and compliance documentation for themselves, direct reports and for the program itself.
- Maintain curricular integrity by ensuring course content promotes achievement of course learning outcomes identified in theCNAtraining.
- Setup and assist with the facilitation of skills lab learning environments through the use and operation of a technology, trainers, mannequins, and patient acting to optimize learning outcomes.
- Identify resources needed to support student learning in the skills lab settings.
- Monitor evaluative data from students about experience in simulation and communicates that information to Assistant Dean for Online Nursing Programs.
- Ensure regulatory and accreditation requirements are met to remain designated as a program that can confer student certification.
- Stay current in your field as well as best pedagogical practices to create inclusive learning environments whether online or in person.
- Demonstrate a pattern of consistent participation in
university-sponsored, discipline-specific, and/or additional
professional development activities intended to improve one’s
instructional performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing or enrolled in a Master’s nursing program.
- Licensed and unencumbered registered nurse in the State of Minnesota.
- Two (2) years of licensed nursing or licensed practical nursing experience.
- One year experience in the provision of long-term care facility services.
- Certification as aCNATrain the Trainer andBLSInstructor.
- Staff development, academic preparation and/or teaching experience in nursing education.
- Teaching experience in online and/or in-person formats.
- Advanced computer skills including course management systems and various technology.
- Certified as aCNATrain the Trainer and Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor.
- Experience in simulation, skills lab, and instructional technology.
