Responsibilities

Under occasional supervision, the Admissions Counselor is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of diverse student populations including, but not limited to ethnic, cultural, social, lifestyle, and global diversity. The Admissions Counselor engages in the following duties: Recruits and assists in enrolling talented, highly qualified students from diverse backgrounds with an emphasis on traditional student population; Cultivates strategic partnerships with secondary school students, guidance counselors, educators and alumni that enable the University to meet its admissions goals; Communicates and promotes the University's educational programs to student prospects through secondary school visits, college fairs, personal interviews and individual recruiting. The Admissions Counselor reports directly to the Assistant Director of Admissions.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree supplemented by one to three years of substantive experience in admissions, recruitment, high school guidance, public relations, counseling or other relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills (written, verbal, phone) and work ethic required. Travel required; must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and some weekends. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other) desirable. Must have a valid driver's license.
