Position Description

 

The Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle is recruiting for one full-time (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding, commensurate with experience, to join the department with an anticipated start date of November 1, 2023.  Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).  Associate Professors WOT and full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period  (July 1-June 30).  Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

 

Clinical responsibilities include patient care in computed tomography, diagnostic radiology, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, CT/PET, and ultrasound, with an emphasis in body or cardiac imaging preferred.  Additional responsibilities include teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows, contribution to weekly interdepartmental clinical conferences, quality assurance and continuous process improvement, engagement in academic and research activities, and assigned administrative duties. All UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

 

Seattle Children’s is a 407 bed medical regional center; over 125,000 pediatric imaging examinations per year are performed across all modalities within the Hospital and associated outpatient clinics. Successful applicant will join 29 full and part-time faculty members in ongoing education of 4-5 fellows and 6-9 residents.  The institution is committed to clinical and research excellence, and radiologists are encouraged and supported in clinical and basic research efforts.  Compensation and fringe benefits are competitive. 

 

The base salary range for this position will be: $31,089 - $39,908 per month ($373,068 - $478,896 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.  This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.  Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.  This position is incentive eligible through the physicians practice plan.

Qualifications

 

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

 

  • M.D. or D.O., or foreign equivalent, in medicine Eligibility for full medical licensure in Washington State Completion of an ACGME accredited Pediatric Radiology fellowship Possess, or eligible, for an American Board of Radiology (ABR) Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Pediatric Radiology Excellence in academic achievement as demonstrated by a record of scientific presentation and/or publications

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
