Job Summary/Basic Functions

An EKU Water Treatment Technician works directly with the Heat Plant Supervisor, HVAC-R Supervisor and Director to perform water quality tests and adjustments on closed stream loops, chill water loops, condensing loops and cooling towers.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: One year of experience is required.

Licensure & Certifications:

Job Duties:

• 35% - Routinely collects boiler chemical feed and steam plant samples and conducts an analysis on each sample collected - (Essential)
• 25% - Operates and repairs the equipment used to treat water in boilers, chillers, distillers, stills, water softeners, and water condensing systems - (Essential)
• 20% - Keeps records on all chemical feed rates, inventory, safety data sheets and usage reports - (Essential)
• 15% - Determines which chemicals are needed to maintain system and water efficiency - (Essential)
• 5% - Other duties as assigned - (Essential)
