Job Summary
The Department of Public Health offers an online Master of Public Health in Health Equity. We are inviting applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice position to join a collaborative and collegial department committed to providing student-centered, innovative instruction in public health to prepare students for a diverse range of career paths. This position will start on or after July 1, 2023, subject to the selected candidate's availability. The position can be remote with expectations of availability for campus-based activities as needed. The position is a full-time twelve-month practice faculty (non-tenure track) appointment.

Primary Responsibilities include:
- Carrying a 7-course teaching load per academic year.
- Participating in the ongoing creation of explicit and implicit
curricula in consultation with program faculty and
leadership.
- Supporting the department's assessment, planning, and
documentation work to maintain accreditation through the Council on
Education for Public Health.
- Demonstrating service to the department, college, or university
through committee work.
Academic Responsibility and Student Advising and Engagement (course release):
- Participate actively in ongoing Department curricular planning
and periodic program review and update of classes.
- Serve as course lead and instructor for select program
courses.
- With MPH Program Director oversee advising processes and
monitor students' course plans and progress towards their degree
objectives.
Other Duties:
Assume other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and MPH Program Director.
Qualifications:
- Master's of Public Health required; doctoral degree in Public
Health or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of work experience as an online instructor
and/or administrator in online education.
- Ability to work well with culturally diverse populations within
an organization.
- Must have advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite, and a
strong ability to learn new systems, especially web-based
applications and learning tools.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and
problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to perform duties with a high level of
professionalism, flexibility, discretion, judgment, diplomacy, and
tact.
- Ability to manage concurrent project timelines, adapt to
changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
Term of Service:
The position will be a 12-month contract. This position will involve remote work only, in our online MPH program.
