The position’s primary responsibility is communicating via phone, email, or in person with current and former students, parents, and external collection agencies regarding defaulted accounts, current student tuition & fees accounts, payment plans, refunds, and other Student Business Services or university-related processes. This position also assists with the collections process of defaulted student accounts receivable for the university.
Job Duties
Communicate with and assist customers in person or by phone/email with questions regarding current/past-due tuition & fees bills, payments, refunds, contracts/exemptions, and other Student Business Services or university-related processes, procedures, or policies. Assist with the internal collections process of defaulted accounts, including but not limited to payment plan enrollment assistance, sending missed payment notifications, and researching student accounts for discrepancies as needed. Assist with the evaluation of current student financial aid data to determine the ability to pay on outstanding debt prior to enrollment for a new term. Monitor the Collections email box. Respond to emails received from customers regarding past-due accounts or current tuition/fees bills and/or other SBS -related processes in a timely manner. Perform research and provide information as requested. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
