Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting/bookkeeping;
- Reconciliation experience;
- Customer service experience;
- Demonstrated attention to detail;
- Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate in a verbal or written manner;
- The ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks at once, and complete work within established deadlines;
- The ability to work as a team-member and interact with co-workers in a courteous and professional manner;
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, with an emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook; and
- The ability to work extended hours during peak periods.
- Higher education experience in a Student Business Services/Cash Operations office;
- A working knowledge in SAP, Banner, or similar ERP system
- Experience with TouchNet payment system; and
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting.
This position is responsible for monitoring university bank transactions, preparing entries in both the student accounting (Banner) and ERP ( SAP ) system, reconciling and performing account analysis, and providing customer assistance, as needed.
Job Duties
- Monitors all incoming and outgoing bank wires ( EFT / ACH ) in collaboration with cashiering, to ensure that they are recorded to the financial system ( SAP ) and student system (Banner) in a timely manner.
- Completes all necessary SAP transactions related to EFTs, returned items, petty cash, deposit corrections, change orders, and additional transactions as needed/assigned.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts for funds returned or received by the bank to ensure all items are properly posted to the financial system and/or student system.
- Performs analysis of discrepancies that arise in the bank wire confirmation and reconciliation process.
- Assists customers with SBS -related questions both in-person (cashiering lobby) and via phone and email, as needed and during peak periods.
- Performs bank transfers and cash blotter reconciliation.
- Other duties, as assigned.
