Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (Ref.: 520696) (to commence on August 15, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability).

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, digital media or related fields, with substantial years of proven experience as a video producer/editor/director in the journalism/media/filming industry. Priority will be given to those with experience in teaching professional courses on film and video production at tertiary level.

The appointee will be responsible for teaching courses on documentary film appreciation and video production, as well as designing curriculum and developing new courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
