Position Summary:

Parking Services invites qualified applicants to apply for our Parking Services Representative opening! This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance for you and your dependents, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.
Duties involve greeting and assisting visitors, issuing permits to the University community, enforcing parking rules and regulations, issuing parking citations, impounding vehicles, and assisting motorists.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One year experience with customer service and/or public relations.
Experience working independently.
Experience effectively dealing with conflict and complaints.
Effective written communication skills.
Physically able to perform the duties of the position including stooping, lifting, and walking/standing for hours in all kinds of weather.
Possess a valid driver's license and operate a vehicle in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
2+ years demonstrated successful experience with customer service and public relations.
Prior experience in parking/traffic enforcement in a University setting.
Ability to make judgmental decisions based on the situation and applicable regulation.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively using a two way radio, and face to face with customers.
Effective interpersonal communication skills.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.
The University will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic on campus and in the community as well as developments in federal and state requirements, and also will continue to regularly consult with public health officials and our medical panel. As has been the case throughout the pandemic, our protocols and requirements are subject to change depending on conditions on campus or in our community, and government requirements.
