Winona State University invites you to join our Community of Learners as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs – Winona State University (WSU) Rochester.


About the Position: The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) is responsible for leading the WSU-Rochester campus in the greater Rochester region, including Rochester Community & Technical College (RCTC), downtown, and other locations. The Associate VPAA is responsible for creating sustainable and collaborative relationships to facilitate academic programming, working closely with university leadership (Academic Affairs, IT, Student Life and Development, Finance, HR and Advancement) to connect student services and programs, and managing budget development and allocation. Working with academic deans and Adult Continuing Education (ACE), this position provides vision, leadership, and management oversight for academic programs, manages shared spaces/services/resources/activities, and support for graduate, undergraduate and online programs including micro-courses and certificates conducted through WSU-Rochester. The position represents the Rochester campus on university, local, and statewide graduate and undergraduate meetings and committees.

About the Rochester, Minnesota Community:  Located on rolling bluffs of the Zumbro River’s south fork in SE Minnesota, Rochester is the county seat of Olmsted County. As identified in the 2020 census, the city had a population of 121,395, making it Minnesota’s third-largest city. The Rochester metropolitan area, which also includes the nearby rural agricultural areas, had a population of 226,329. Rochester is its own special place. Qualifications: An earned Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution (An earned doctorate or other terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred) and a combination of higher education and administration experience (with increasing levels of responsibility), with a track record of successful experience and accomplishments in leadership, supervision, and innovation.
