Wilkes University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Microfabrication at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is housed within the College of Business and Engineering and offers undergraduate programs in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management. In addition, it offers M.S. degree programs in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, and Bioengineering. Current members of the faculty in the department pursue a broad research agenda that spans areas including RF and antenna design, applied electromagnetics, bioengineering, embedded systems, biomechatronics, nanomaterials and nanotechnology, combustion, smart materials and additive manufacturing.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or affiliated field. Experience in industry and/or in a research laboratory is preferred. Applicants should be proficient in English with excellent oral and written communication skills, show promise for research and commitment to both undergraduate and graduate instruction in Electrical Engineering. The Department seeks candidates with interdisciplinary expertise with a demonstrated record in research and teaching or collaborative experience across other engineering and scientific fields.

This position is specifically targeting a new faculty member with expertise in microfabrication and/or semiconductor device design. Cross-disciplinary research with one of the aforementioned categories and with the other research programs within the department is desirable. Familiarity with practical applications and an ability to work with industrial partners are important. Candidates should possess the ability to teach basic circuit courses as well as upper-level specialty courses.
