Job Description Summary

The Mid-Career Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership is an executive-model program for mid-level and senior educational leaders. This position has responsibility for the day-to-day logistics of running the program, under limited supervision of the director and under direct supervision of the associate director. The person will have primary responsibility for all student affairs and student life functions in the program; coordinate all preparation and planning for courses within the program of study; provide technical and process support for regular and part-time faculty; handle operational logistics for all program activities, working with various internal and external vendors and processing payments; and coordinate and collaborate with other members of the program team in support of expanded learning and professional initiatives and management of social media outreach. Responsibilities also include assisting the director with the recruitment, admissions, and enrollment of this select group. Some travel for recruitment and network support will be involved. Additionally, the position will provide direct support to the Director for travel and scheduling.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all student affairs and student life functions in the program. Serve as primary point of contact for students. Monitor progress and oversee support toward degree requirements.


  • Coordinate all course preparation and planning (working closely with faculty, other GSE staff, and students). Provide technical and process support for regular and part-time faculty.


  • Coordinate all operational logistics for program activities (classes and all other events). Work with various internal and external vendors; process and manage payments and review budget.


  • Assist the director with recruitment, admissions, and enrollment. Some travel for recruitment and network support, as needed.


  • Coordinate and collaborate with other members of the program team in support of various program network initiatives, such as PELS, RILE, visitor events/meetings, network events, etc.; collaborate to manage social media outreach, including news updates on website, Twitter, Facebook, mass email communications, etc.


  • Direct support to the director for travel and scheduling; manage director's calendar, arrange travel.


  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

ESSENTIAL:
  • A Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A strong, positive service orientation to student and faculty support is essential.
  • Ability to work closely and effectively in varied professional capacities is needed, including with a select and diverse group of mid- and senior-level educational leaders, regular and part-time faculty, and staff in various operational areas (admissions, facilities, financial aid, registrar, billing, etc.).


PREFERRED:
  • Experience in student affairs
  • Knowledge of preK-12
  • Social media competency
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Willingness to learn new software applications

Timeline: Application review will begin on May 26, 2023. Interviews will tentatively begin the week of June 5, 2023. Ideally, a final hiring decision will be made by the end of June with an anticipated, tentative start date by July 5, 2023.
