Job Summary:

The Relational Completion Advisor will provide direct services to students in support of the College's efforts to increase student persistence, retention, and certificate/degree completion. This individual will specialize in the advisement of Adult Learners across all academic divisions. This includes being trained in all of VSCC's degree pathways and career fields along with broader retention-related counseling for life, education, and career goals. In addition, the advisor will be involved in proactive outreach such as analyzing Early Alert warnings, falling GPAs, and performance in gateway courses.

Job Duties:

Academic Advising, with a significant focus on Adult Learners. Coordinate and assist with development of Peer-Mentor Program. Career Counseling. Crisis Intervention. Providing and promoting Division-Specific Information through presentations at various sites. Assist with social media efforts. Supporting student success initiatives. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.
One year of academic advising or customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree.
Experience with Banner.
Experience in an education environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in computer usage, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Exceptional customer relations skills.
Capable of handling multiple projects.
Evidence of working positively and effectively with a diverse population.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay Rate: $36,650 - $45,810 annual salary depending on experience
