Position, Department: Clinical Instructor, Nursing, Academic Affairs
Type of Position: Part-time Temporary, Non-Exempt
Work Schedule, Hours per week: one day a week, up to 12 hours per week
Pay Range: $43.01/hour
Benefits Category: Limited benefits
Position Summary: Johnson County Community College is seeking part-time temporary clinical instructors to teach in the areas of Med/Surg, Behavioral Health or Pediatrics.
The PTT nursing faculty will be responsible for working with students in the clinical setting one day a week. This individual may be asked to be available occasionally for on campus activities as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university; candidates with a BSN and requisite experience will be considered
- An active RN license in both Kansas and Missouri, or Nurse Licensure Compact
- Current nursing experience in the area being taught
- A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience within the last five years
- Ability to multitask; process multiple sources of information quickly
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work closely with students, collaborating with staff nurses, to ensure a quality, hands-on learning experience in a nursing area
- This role requires supervision of students and excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing with weekly evaluations
Preferred Qualifications:
- One to three years relevant teaching experience in nursing education
- Prior teaching experience
