Summary/Objective

The Assistant Director serves as academic advisor and the primary manager for onboarding and orientation for Kogod online programs. Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director for Online Program Student Services, this position manages the onboarding process for new students including outreach to the new students, preparing the orientation materials, delivering the presentation, making sure the students understand how to use the online systems (2KSB or Canvas), and tracking whether students have registered for their first courses and are ready to begin study. The Assistant Director also supports an assigned caseload of continuing students through all phases of enrollment; including matriculation, continuous enrollment, progress toward degree, and graduation. The position requires a high level of attention and interaction with students, faculty, and staff and works collaboratively with the Kogod leadership team, university leaders and to develop and implement high quality MBA, MS Analytics, MS Marketing Analytics and International Relations & Business degree programs.

Essential Functions
  1. Student Advising and Support: Advise students to ensure excellence in academic affairs, including course sequencing, registration, academic program planning, change in status, academic support needs, questions regarding changes, degree audits, questions about finances, and graduation. Ensure thorough and timely responses to all correspondence. Follow through and provide feedback and documentation.
  2. Academic Records Maintenance, Administration:Maintain processes for accurate record keeping, including tracking students’ graduation plans, documenting Leaves of Absence, Withdraws and other student status issues. Maintain pertinent student files. Provide advocacy and education to internal/ external constituents, for example, student demographics and alumni reporting to internal/external constituents.
  3. New Student Onboarding and Orientation: Manage onboarding of new students after deposit and signing intent to enroll letter. Tracking students that have been admitted to four-term calendar programs and handling handoff from admission counselor to assigned academic advisor. Ensure all students that intend to enroll register for first term classes. Coordinate the program and technology overview session, which serves as orientation to the program.
  4. Other Duties as Assigned & Additional Projects: Conduct additional projects as assigned by the Associate Director of Graduate Programs, which include but are not limited to immersions and practicums, special school-wide events, graduate admissions open houses and graduate orientation.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in business administration or higher education.
  • Career advising experience, a plus.
