Position Announcement
Utah Valley Univeristy is currently seeking an Admin Support III for the Center for Autism! This position fulfills a key role in providing clerical and administrative support to the MNCA Director and Associate Director. Additionally, the position provides support to the Center for Autism's staff. Under the general direction of the Director, performs and/or oversees a variety of associated administrative, fiscal, staff support, and planning activities, some of which require advance or specialized knowledge and skills, such as budget administration and facilities scheduling, and inventory control, specialized record keeping, database management and/or specified information­ gathering projects and tasks. Coordinates and helps facilitate meetings, program functions, and special events. Trains and oversees lower graded staff and/or students. Must have flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for special events.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • (20%) Performs difficult and confidential administrative duties, including composing routine correspondence, record keeping, minute taking, coordinating NB maintenance facilities requests, procurement, catering and facilities scheduling.
  • (30%) Informs students, faculty, community, about upcoming events.Coordinates events; handles all phone calls, e-mails, and walk in traffic; requests assistance for director and associate director and Center employees as needed.
  • (25%) Performs financial activities for the Center including new-hire paperwork, epafs, requisitions, purchase orders, travel, etc. Assists the Director with maintaining a balanced budget for individual programs and the Center as a whole.
  • 15%) Maintains inventory of office equipment and supplies; handles other office duties as needed which includes supervision of student workers and office support.
  • (10%) Other duties as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience related to the summary of duties in a higher education setting.
Preference for those with skills in Banner9, ePAFs, NeoEd, and Wolverine Marketplace.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of best practices in office support and technology.
  • Administrative knowledge of office methods, techniques, practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge in the use of computers and computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, databases, and presentations (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Knowledge in the preparation and monitoring of departmental financial transactions and budgets. Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA.
  • Skills in office methods, techniques, practices and procedures
  • Skills in the use of computers and computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, databases, and presentations.
  • Skills in the preparation and interpretation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquette.
  • Skills in effective written and verbal communication.
  • Skills in meeting and working with people of diverse backgrounds and varying disabilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interactions and relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and decision making under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work independently on a multi-task level, prioritize and follow projects through to successful completion.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimal supervision.
