Wang College (wang.college) is the next-generation college and world's first college of technology. Schools today don’t actually teach tech – only theory. That would be like a nursing school teaching only biology without a clinical.

But we go the full mile by teaching coding and also providing cross-functional work experience. Our career simulation program (bootcamp2.com) enables computer science students to work with product managers and product designers to build real features together.

We’re similar to a technical college or an Associate’s degree, except that we don’t teach irrelevant electives such as physics or geography - only computer science. We’re also similar to a coding bootcamp in that we are not accredited and offer a full suite of services with mock interviews, resume reviews, and student success coaching.

Wang College has two courses, including Intro to Computer Programming, and Data Structures and Algorithms. Both of these courses are self-paced. We’re looking for 4 instructors (only 1 spot remaining - currently, we have lecturers joining us from Harvard, Stanford, and Berkeley) who can pre-record lectures over slides, which is a standard one semester college course. Additionally, instructors will support student discussions and grade exams or assignments - similar to how the University of Phoenix or WGU would operate. Instructors are expected to co-teach (2 for each class).

Wang College and Bootcamp2 are backed by executives in Silicon Valley, as well the Co-Founder of Google's (Sergey) former General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver curriculum for computer science courses that meets the learning objectives of the course and provides students with a strong foundation in the subject matter.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance and progress.
  • Design and grade assignments, quizzes, exams, and other assessments to evaluate student learning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, participation, and grades.
  • Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and staff to ensure that students are progressing satisfactorily and that any issues are addressed promptly.

Qualifications:

  • A master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience in a college or university setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of prior knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Reasons to get involved:

  • Pioneer the future of education at the next-generation college.
  • Flexibility (due to pre-recorded lectures) and very low hourly commitment (2-3 hours) per week.
  • Competitive compensation.
  • Make an impact on our students' future through education.
  • Get to work with a diverse student body and community
