  • Experience working with international students.

  • Evidence of strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, environment.
  • Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with oral presentations desirable.
Job Description

Responsible for advising and promoting activities and providing leadership opportunities for Texas State students and the campus community.

Job Duties
  • Serve as DHS Designated School Official ( DSO ) and Alternate responsible Officer ( ARO ) for routine SEVIS records maintenance and record updates to ensure federal compliance for both the university and student population.
  • Advise primarily F-1 international students on matters including, yet not limited to, immigration.
  • Advise and assist prospective and admitted international students on pre-arrival immigration-related issues and on boarding services.
  • Work closely with academic departments and university offices to support international students.
  • Participate in the implementation and delivery of various programming activities including new student check-in and orientation; intercultural programing; special topic workshops and joint programming with other campus or community entities.
  • Assist with the management of the international health insurance.
  • Actively participate in the development and growth of team expertise in the laws and regulations governing international students and in informing university administrators about university policies and procedures that ensure ongoing compliance.
