Job Description

The Department of Art and Art History ( https://hope.edu/academics/art-and-art-history/ ) invites applications for 2 Visiting Assistant Professors positions in Studio Art, beginning Fall 2023. These are one-year appointments with the possibility of renewal. Primary teaching responsibilities are teaching basic courses in studio art. These courses are populated by studio majors and minors, as well as students taking Arts in Practice courses for the Anchor Plan. Media fields are open, but candidates must be qualified to teach at least two separate media. The department offers courses in drawing, painting, watercolor, photography (digital and film), design, printmaking, screen printing, sculpture, and ceramics. The expected teaching load is 3 courses per semester. Preparing and executing all work for assigned classes, including syllabi preparation, instruction delivery, and student assessment are also part of these positions, as well as maintaining regular, published office hours for students.

MFA Degree in studio art.
