Job Description:
Brown University Athletics and Recreation is currently seeking candidates for the Assistant Director of Athletics Compliance position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).
Under general supervision of the Associate Director of Athletics – Compliance, the Assistant Director of Athletics Compliance assists to ensure compliance with NCAA, Ivy League, ECAC, Brown University, and other athletics governing body regulations. The position assists in creating a comprehensive compliance program across 34 varsity sports programs and 200+ staff members. The position will oversee the day-to-day operations of various bylaws and will serve as the compliance liaison for select sports.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead academic eligibility process
- Assist in the development and utilization of sound monitoring systems
- Assist with creating a comprehensive rules education program
- Assist with the investigation, preparation, and reporting of NCAA, Ivy League, and other governing bodies violations and waivers.
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least two (2) years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Outstanding organizational management, flexibility and the ability to effectively prioritize, required.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and listening skills required, ability to effectively engage and
- present to a wide variety of constituents, both internally and externally.
- Developed knowledge of NCAA and Ivy League rules compliance.
- Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
